Winifred Monu, best referred to as Winnie, is an African-American young entrepreneur residing in the DMV, primarily in Maryland. Winnie is the daughter of immigrant Nigerian parents, who moved to the U.S. when she was 2 years old. Growing up, Winnie always loved learning about her West African culture and wanted to find a way to bridge the gap between first-gen African-Americans and native-born Africans. In 2017, Winnie founded the concept ‘Igbo Girl Brunch Network’ and has generated a growing network of over 3,000 Nigerian-American women living in the U.S.

Winnie has worked with and/or been featured alongside talents and networks such as Good Morning America, The Word Network for The Heather Lindsey Show, worked alongside Yvonne Orji, Wizkid, Davido, PSquare, and Flavour. She is known for her talents as a Large Scale Event Production Manager as she has worked behind Prominent African Entertainer Headliner Acts at EchoStage, OneAfrica Fest in NY, and Nigerian Entertainment Awards. As a young professional, Winnie continues to trailblaze in her community by hosting monthly brunches and networking mixers in the African & Afro-Caribbean community. Winnie continues to find ways to give back as she recently partnered with ThinkAfrica, an organization built on connecting entrepreneur efforts to provide resources to people back in Africa.
