Adebisi Adebowale is a first-generation, Nigerian-American who was born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area. She is a businesswoman and blogger who speaks, coaches, and consults to uplift and facilitate the promotion of opportunities, growth, and education for Africans in the Diaspora. What began as a fashion blog to answer all the inquiries about her different Ankara print designs in 2010, Beese’s Pieces, the everyday African [life]style blog, has later become a platform to showcase the realities of life in the African diaspora in the United States. She showcases different African-inspired fashion and styles by various designers, including her own she designs for her company DeBisi, that can be worn every day or for special events. Through her lifestyle blog, she ventures to take you with her to some of the best African restaurants (#BeeseEats), suggests some life hacks for travel, hair, personal finances, and good reads (#BeesesBookClub). All the while, professing her faith and love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In 2015, she started her company Upliftology™, where she helps college-bound students prepare for the college application process by finding their voice and purpose in order to best maximize their potential and turn their dreams into reality. After earning over $250,000 for her own education at The George Washington University, she has made it her mission to help other students attend and graduate college debt-free! Her clients, whom she calls her scholars, have enrolled and (a few have) graduated debt-free from schools like Columbia University, Syracuse University, University of Maryland - College Park, and many more and have earned over $2.5 Million in scholarships to date. When she is not writing for the blog, on a photoshoot, or traveling, Adebisi loves spending time with her family, watching football, and eating pizza! She's been featured in various media and high-profiled events including Essence Festival, BET Music Awards, MadameNoire, and most recently, TEDx.
